High-Pressure RO Pump Impellers, Precision Machined
PartsMake manufactures impellers and diffusers for multi-stage high-pressure Reverse Osmosis (RO) pumps. Five-axis machining and rigorous balancing help components perform reliably in the demanding seawater conditions of Middle Eastern desalination plants.
- Ra 0.4 μmFlow-channel finish
- ISO 1940 G2.5Dynamic balancing
- Super Duplex 2507Seawater-ready material
Five-axis machining for complex impeller and diffuser hydraulic profiles.
Hydraulic performance
Address the failure points that cost pump efficiency
In high-pressure RO service, often above 60–80 bar, small defects in a hydraulic profile can increase turbulence, power loss and material degradation. Microscopic surface irregularities can encourage cavitation and premature erosion. Our machining approach focuses on preserving channel integrity and tight geometric tolerances to help counter seawater wash erosion and the risk of tiny cavitation perforations.
High-smoothness flow channels
A fine finish on duplex stainless flow surfaces reduces fluid turbulence resistance and friction, supporting improved pumping energy efficiency and helping limit cavitation initiation.
Seawater wear resistance
Material selection and accurate machining are aimed at the corrosive, high-chloride seawater conditions of Gulf and Red Sea desalination operations.
Manufacturing process
Five-axis milling, built around the hydraulic profile
We machine impellers directly from forged Super Duplex 2507 or 2205 billets using simultaneous five-axis CNC milling. Starting from forged stock avoids casting inconsistencies and internal porosity, producing a denser, more fatigue-resistant component.
01 · Geometry
Critical vane accuracy
Positional accuracy of ±0.005 mm for critical vane profiles.
02 · Surface
Ra 0.4 μm in flow channels
A high-quality channel finish helps minimise friction and reduce the onset of cavitation.
03 · Material
Super Duplex 2507 option
PREN > 40 for demanding high-chloride seawater environments. Super Duplex 2205 is also available.
Rotating equipment assurance
Dynamic balance verified to ISO 1940 G2.5
Vibration can be an early warning of mechanical seal failure and bearing degradation in high-speed pump assemblies. Every impeller undergoes mandatory dynamic balancing to ISO 1940 G2.5. A balancing report is supplied with every shipment to support installation within the required vibration thresholds and help extend mean time between failures (MTBF).
