Surface engineering for harsh environments

Corrosion Protection

PartsMake provides corrosion protection for offshore oil and gas platforms, marine equipment and coastal industrial facilities across the GCC. From Type III hard anodising to stainless steel passivation and heavy-duty epoxy powder coating, we help specify and verify finishes suited to heat, humidity and salt exposure.

Protective finish options

Choose the right protection for each component

PartsMake coordinates surface treatments as part of the manufacturing and inspection plan, helping keep finish requirements connected to the part’s material, geometry and service environment.

Aluminium components

Type III hard anodising

A hard, wear-resistant anodic layer for aluminium parts requiring surface durability and corrosion protection. Sealing, masking and finish requirements are agreed against the drawing and service conditions.

Reference specification: MIL-PRF-8625 Type III, where required.

Stainless steel

Stainless steel passivation

A controlled cleaning and passivation process for stainless steel, helping support the material’s corrosion-resistant passive surface without adding a conventional coating layer.

Process references: ASTM A967/A967M or ASTM A380/A380M, as specified.

Steel fabrications

Heavy-duty epoxy powder coating

A robust coating option for enclosures, brackets, skids and other fabricated parts. Surface preparation, coverage, cure and finish acceptance are defined for the agreed operating environment.

Salt-spray validation available up to 2,000 hours, to an agreed test and acceptance plan.

From preparation to release

A controlled finishing workflow

The finish is only as dependable as the preparation and checks behind it. Inspection points are planned around the part geometry, critical surfaces and customer requirements.

01 · Review

Confirm the specification

Review substrate, service exposure, coating or treatment standard, masked areas and acceptance criteria before processing.

02 · Prepare

Control the surface condition

Prepare and clean the substrate using a process appropriate to its material and finish, with attention to edges, interfaces and protected features.

03 · Apply

Process to the agreed requirements

Coordinate anodising, passivation or powder coating with the part’s drawing notes, finish limits and production route.

04 · Verify

Record inspection and test results

Check finish condition and applicable measurements, then provide the agreed inspection records and traceability documentation with the shipment.

Inspection and verification

Evidence built into the finish plan

Testing is selected to match the agreed specification. Results are assessed against the relevant acceptance criteria rather than treating one test result as a universal service-life guarantee.

Adhesion checks

Coating adhesion can be assessed using the method and acceptance level set by the project, including cross-cut or pull-off methods where appropriate.

Salt-spray exposure

Corrosion-resistant finishes can be evaluated in salt-spray chambers for exposure periods up to 2,000 hours, subject to the agreed test method and acceptance criteria.

Test plan agreed before production release

Finish and dimensions

Visual condition and specified dimensions are checked with attention to mating faces, masked features and areas where the finish may affect fit.

Inspection scope aligned to drawing requirements

Traceability records

Material traceability, inspection results and finish documentation can be compiled into a shipment data pack for project review and receiving inspection.
